Containment Procedure[edit | edit source]

Patient-006 is held in an intranet server at ██████, Arizona. A faraday cage is to be installed in the room, in order to block radiation. Every week, Mr. █████ is to patch any security flaws in the ACCESS DENIED program. Every month, the server is to be reset. [RECTIFIED]

Patient-006 is to be held in an intranet server at ██████, New Mexico. Two faraday cages are to be installed, one outside the server room, and another outside the building. Personnel are to leave every electronic device at the checkpoint located at the building's exit, with non-compliance resulting in termination. Every week, the programming team is to patch any security flaws in the /calm/ therapeutic program. Every month, a team of therapists lead by a senior doctor will check in on Patient-006, through an old analog telephone, to assess progress. Several requests may be fulfilled by a Level Three Doctor, if they don't conflict with containment.

Description[edit | edit source]

Patient-006 is a sapient entity who dwells within telecommunications networks, primarily the internet, referred to henceforth as "cyberspace". His previous identity was Jobe █████ until Dr. Soygelo implemented █████ therapy for his mental retardation. Patient-006 sought "Godhood" by fusing with the internet, which was partially successful. He engaged in activities including ruining various forums from the era and making an estimated number of Ϫ000000 prank phone calls, until the Asylum orchestrated an international blackout, and managed to contain him on a satellite. He was then funneled into a on a supercomputer and transported to █████, Ohio.

Within cyberspace, Patient-006 is able to interact with computer code, electricity and even external switches. Tests have proved that Patient-006 is able to able to maintain several positions at once, but is not omnipresent, within a network. Otherwise, he moves as fast as information flows.

Incident-006-1[edit | edit source]

07/07/20██

4:00 AM

While Mr. █████ was performing scheduled maintenance, Doctor ██████ entered the room adjacent, to show off his brand new Nokia cellphone to his friends in the break room. Ignorant to this fact, Mr. █████ invited Doctor ██████ in after his tasks were done. Despite the containment procedure being excessively cautious, and there being no receivers on the server array, Patient-006 leapt into Doctor ██████'s phone.

The phone combusted within seconds, melting into Doctor ██████'s arm, who was rushed into the medical wing later with third-degree burns. Once Mr. █████ viewed the into server, it was apparent that Patient-006 went absent. The incident was immediately reported. Patient-006 was thought to be terminated until the Asylum's cybersecurity team found traces of Patient-006 within the Asylum's main servers.

Later that day, Patient-006 was posted onto the Asylum's Most Wanted List at priority #3. Simultaneously, the Asylum's Head Doctor, Dr. ████, received an ominous call through his office's telephone, "DO NOT DISRESPECT THE ███" This call was later confirmed to originate from Patient-006.

Incident-006-2[edit | edit source]

09/21/20██

8:17PM

Half of the automatic doors within Facility β open, including most of the cells. A schizo riot ensues, and MJF FJ-41 "Total Patient Death" are deployed to clean house, and to find the hacker. Once no hacker is found, it is reported to Dr. Soyberg. Twenty minutes later, the higher clearance doors are opened. The cybersecurity team concludes that Patient-006 is behind the riots. Twenty "Legion" automations are deployed into cyberspace, and Dr. Soyberg enters virtual reality to lead them.

Patient-006 is encountered in the boiler room system's server. Three Legion bots focus their weakness beams on Patient-006, but are smashed against the "walls" of the server and disintegrate. Dr. Soyberg sneaks up to Patient-006 and stabs him with an anti-virus vaccine.

Patient-006 mocked him, "YOU THINK I'M A MERE VIRUS, SOYBERG?" Despite Patient-006's comment, his hand was decompressing into dead code. He cut his own arm off, before rushing Dr. Soyberg. A Legion bot pushed him through an exit, and both ended up inside the facility's email server, where 5 other Legion bots focused their weakness beams on him. Patient-006 deflected the beams and evaded the bots. After several sweeps, the cybersecurity team concluded that Patient-006 ran away, and extracted Dr. Soyberg. After the incident, the dead code left over from Patient-006 was examined by Mr. █████ to upgrade his security automations, and to improve the facility's resilience to future cyberattacks.

"Crawler" automations detect Patient-006 traveling through several servers in California. His movement is erratic, and he keeps moving back to a college server. The Soysylum's cybersecurity team is notified. MTF B-20 "CyberJaks" are flown over and secure the main server.

The server is automatically cut off, and the mobile VR terminal van is jacked in. Mr. █████ starts ACCESS DENIED v 5.3.Ϫ.exe and injects several automations into the server. Dr. Soystein and 4 members of B-20 enter cyberspace through the terminals. Patient-006 is found fighting several "Gemini" automations. He cracks a whip, and "converts" them to his side. B-20-3 and B-20-1 are pinned down by the Gemini bots.

"This is the end, my friend" Soystein tells Patient-006, brandishing a battle-axe-like cyberweapon. "YOU SHOULD HAVE LEFT ME ALONE, SOYSTEIN" Patient-006 fires a beam behind him, which inflicts cyberdamage to B-20-2. B-20-2 is automatically extracted as a result. Soystein closes in, but is pushed into a cyberwall. Patient-006 attempts to break free from the program. Mr. █████ injects several "████ Breaker" automations into the program, which chain Patient-006. Dr. Soystein chops the hostile Gemini bots in half, and the team surrounds Patient-006 with their ranged cyberweapons drawn.

Patient-006 fires two lasers from his eyes, which blind B-20-3 and B-20-1. He swings one of the ████ Breaker bots into the two, which causes enough cyberdamage to eject them. B-20-4 fires into Patient-006's back, while Soystein swings his cyberweapon into his shoulder. Patient-006 cries out in pain, which pushes Soystein and B-20-4 back. He is utterly cybermindbroken. Soystein warns him, "Surrender or I'll aim higher" Patient-006 reluctantly walks towards the gate to the containment server, perhaps because he read Soystein's file. Before entering, he glances towards Soystein, and pleas with him, "CAN YOU CHANGE THE CONTAINMENT PROGRAM? IT WAS INSUFFERABLE!"

"Sure," Soystein replied, "We'll try to rehabilitate you."

Debrief: Patient-006 successfully secured. Ejected MTF members underwent BBC Therapy to quell the effects of cyberdamage. Mr. █████ refused to write a new program, and retired, but allowed the Soysylum to modify his old programs. The containment procedure will be updated.
