Special Containment Procedures[edit | edit source]
The object should be kept in a windowless room whilst covered by a blanket or any other barrier that will prevent its reflective part from being viewed. Only researchers and security personnel with level 2 clearance and above are allowed to access the room.
Description[edit | edit source]
OBJ-030 is an old vintage mirror, measuring around 180cm in height. It has a wooden frame which stands on four legs. An empty drawer sits at the bottom of the mirror, which serves as the base upon which the reflective part itself and the legs are attached.
The object was found in an old abandoned house in Luxembourg by a group of local urban explorers. Upon looking at the reflective part of the object, the urban explorers came face to face with OBJ-030-1, leading to them losing all facial features such as the mouth, both eyes, nose, eyebrows. Besides that, their ability to grow any kind of hair on their faces was lost, with all of their facial hair falling off, presumably within several minutes of them seeing OBJ-030-1 (see test log entry 030-1989-6-15).
The CIA was able to recover the object with the help of MSF group "Thrembo-soy Alpha" after the local CIA field office was informed of the strange deaths of the previously mentioned urban explorers.
OBJ-030-1[edit | edit source]

Object OBJ-030-1 is an entity that spawns as a result of a human subject viewing the reflective part of OBJ-030.
OBJ-030-1 most commonly appears in OBJ-030's reflective part to anyone who views the said part within a time span of 10 seconds to 1 minute. It has also been known to appear on other reflective surfaces outside of OBJ-030's containment chamber. In such cases, OBJ-030-1 will appear almost immediately after the required time span for its appearance has expired. Subjects exposed to OBJ-030's reflective part and then immediately being blindfolded have suffered from no adverse effects up until they looked at a surface with sufficient reflective properties and size to show OBJ-030-1's face.
OBJ-030-1 has been described as male detective devoid of facial features, wearing a blue fedora, a blue suit, black tie and a yellow shirt.
From several survivor interviews, they have reacted to any mention of this man by the interviewer by frantically writing "Nophono" on a piece of paper. The interviewers were able to conclude that OBJ-030-1's name is indeed Nophono by asking the interviewed subjects very specific questions.
Subjects who have viewed OBJ-030's reflective part and then been exposed to materials of various reflective properties and sizes have seen OBJ-030-1 in materials with the reflectance greater than 35% and size greater than 0.03 square meters. Thus, the research staff have designated objects with the reflectance lesser than 35% and sizes lesser than 0.03 square meters as safe for viewing for subjects exposed to OBJ-030's reflective part.

The observation staff experienced no ill effects after seeing OBJ-030 or OBJ-030-1 through CCTV footage recorded by a camera within the room.

Dr. Soyberg: Did xe get sproke?
████: Yes.
Dr. Soyberg: Any effects?
████: No.
Dr. Soyberg: Alright them, let's begin. Patient-030-1, how do you feel?
Patient-030-1: (Muffled sounds, shaking xer head).
Dr. Soyberg: ████, could you please bring me a piece of paper?
████: Will do.
████: Here.
Dr. Soyberg: Thank you. (Places the piece of paper in front of Patient-030-1. Retrieves a pen out of his left breast pocket and places it in Patient-030-1's right hand.) Can you feel the pen? There is a paper in front of you. Please write "Apple".
Patient-030-1: (Fiddles with the pen for a couple of seconds while trying to feel the piece of paper in front of xer. Xe later successfully writes "Apple", even THOUGH the writing appears poor, presumably due to a lack of eyes.)
Dr. Soyberg: Good. Tell us, what did you see?
Patient-030-1: (Begins to frantically write the word "Nophono" over and over again on the piece of paper.)
Dr. Soyberg: Nophono? Who is this "Nophono"?
Patient-030-1: (Continues to write the word "Nophono" on the piece of paper.)
Dr. Soyberg: Write "yes" if "Nophono" is what you saw in the mirror?
Patient-030-1: (Writes "yes" before continuing to frantically write the word "Nophono" until the pen's ink began to run dry.)
Dr. Soyberg: Meds NOW. Continue xer sproke therapy, this interview has concluded.
