Description

OBJ-1046 is a file named "snow02.gif" that periodically appears on websites (especially around Soymas) that activates whenever a page infected by OBJ-1046 is loaded into a browser. Opening the browser console shows that OBJ-1046 is an externally injected gif that is downloaded into the computer's cache. Upon activation, OBJ-1046 will display itself on top of the website's content and the temperature inside the room begins to drop at a pace of -2 degrees C per 30 minutes. The room will get colder and colder until it reaches the freezing point of water (-0 C). At this point Snow will begin to manifest and accumulate. Any room adjacent will not be affected by OBJ-1046 but will still drop in temperature due to heat attempting to fill the cold space. Snow will spill out of the affected room but there is no evidence the snow is anomalous and rooms (or the outside) snow spills into will be affected by the ambient temperature of that room/outside. The temperature drop and snow will continue until the infected website is closed or the computer is turned off. Only then will anomalous activity cease.

Special Containment Procedures

Currently OBJ-1046 is still uncontained but stifled due to websites now being more complicated and modern browsers blocking external content. OBJ-1046 has yet to show any sign of adapting to the modern internet and thus only can infect outdated/old websites running antiquated code. An AI agent (codenamed Chudscanner) has been tasked with scanning the internet and eliminating any instance of OBJ-1046.

Discovery

OBJ-1046 was discovered when on Soymas day 1997. A local hospital in ██████ was called to deal with a case of extreme hypothermia. The paramedics found an entire apartment block filled with snow and the occupants attempting to exit the building. It seemed as if OBJ-1046 was loaded on every computer in the block and left running in the background. A small detachment of grunts and Soysylum doctors were dispatched to administer meds and sproke to the affected and paramedics who arrived on scene while our benefactors at the WHO and WEF supressed media coverage and medical records of the incident
